SANDSTONE SCOUTS

Scouts building an improvised bridge across a bog at Great Tower, Windermere during our 8 day camp in the Lake District. We try to arrange a 1 week camp every year in which we don't camp abroad.

Sandstone Scouts

Sandstone Scouts are young people aged 10 to 14. At age 14 the young people move on to Explorer Scouts.

The Sandstone Scouts are divided into Patrols. Depending on the size of the Troop there may be 4, 5 or 6 Patrols.

In the Sandstone Scouts the senior members take on formal leadership roles as Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders. Developing leadership and team-working skills is a key part of the programme in the Scouts section.

The two Scout Troops meet from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm on Monday and Tuesday evenings respectively during the school terms of Bishop Heber High School. Camps, trips and other events are organised in addition to the weekday evening sessions.

Our Scout Troops are open to boys and girls.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
