Welcome to the
Wildfire Explorer Scouts

Explorer Scouts are young people aged 14 to 17. At age 18 the young people can become adult Leaders.

Our Explorer Scouts join the Wildfire Explorer Scout Unit (ESU) based at our Scout Hut on Bickerton Hill. In addition they can become Young Leaders, assisting the adult Leaders in the Scout, Cub or Beaver Sections.

Explorer Scouts are also supported in earning all levels of their Duke of Edinburgh awards and can complete the Volunteering and Expedition sections (and possibly the other two sections if they choose an appropriate activity) entirely within the Explorer Unit.

We have special pages with help and guidance for all members taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, the Queen's Scout Award or the Young Leader Award.

The Wildfire ESU meets from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm on Wednesday evenings, although the detailed programme is agreed jointly between the Leaders and the Explorers. Camps, trips and other events are organised in addition to the Wednesday evening sessions, and the Explorer Scouts are eligible to attend any activity organised by any Explorer Unit in Chester District.

The Wildfire ESU is open to boys and girls.
