1st Sandstone Scout Group
Welcome to the
1st Sandstone Scout Group and Wildfire Explorers

The Scout Movement is the largest co-educational youth organisation in the world, with over 28 million members in 216 countries and territories, including 450,000 young people in the UK. Its purpose is to help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

Scouts take part in activities as diverse as camping, kayaking, climbing, sailing, caving and expeditions overseas. As a Scout you can learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming, or even how to fly a plane. Thereís something for every young person. Itís a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity and experience the wider world.

Scouting is open to all young people aged 6 to 25 of every faith and background. There are also plenty of opportunities for adults to become involved as Leaders, Assistants or Administrators.

The 1st Sandstone Scout Group is based at the Scout Hut on Goldford Lane, Bickerton and draws its members from Tattenhall, Bickerton, Bickley and Cholmondeley and the surrounding areas. It has Explorer, Scout, Cub and Beaver sections and young people normally join as Beaver Scouts and progress through the Sections.

The Scout Hut is located in its own wooded grounds on the south slope of Bickerton Hill and has direct access to the whole of the public access land on the hill. We make every effort to be outdoors on the hill whenever daylight and the weather allow it.
